| Goddess Aphrodite was born from the sea when Kronus cut off Uranus's genitals and threw them into the sea. Aphrodite was known for 4 main attributes, which included a dove, a mirror, an apple, and sea shells. As soon as Aphrodite was born, she was admired as the most beautiful Goddess and was made the Goddess of love and beauty, and so her only duty was to bring love into the world. She was so beautiful that flowers sprang upon her every footstep. As she was such a loving Goddess, she was always showing her emotions. Being the most beautiful Goddess, many of the Gods began to argue and fight over her just to gain her attention. Zeus noticing this ordered her to be married at once to his son, Hephaestus, who was a blacksmith and not a God. As Hephaestus was not as good looking as the Gods, Aphrodite became known for numerous love affairs, which led to many offspring from her various lovers. Some of her most known lovers were the Gods Ares, Dionysus, Hermes, Poseidon, and the mortal, Adonis. |
